Originally from Denver, Colorado, Kathryn (Kate) Brugioni received her undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis and majored in Medieval Studies, Art History & Archaeology.
Interning at the Met’s Cloisters Museum was one of her most formative experiences, and it was there that she was introduced to Conservation as a career.
After trying her hand at paintings conservation–with Cindy Lawrence at Lawrence Fine Art Conservation, LLC. and with the World Monuments Fund (WMF) at the Chanler Studio in New York–she has become interested in painted surfaces.
Kate is currently studying medieval polychromed sculpture as well as other archaeological and ethnographic materials at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU.
